1. Match the physical size (the "group")

Batteries come in fixed case sizes. A battery that is too tall will hit the bonnet; one with the wrong terminal position won't connect. The easiest way is to note the model printed on your old battery (for example GX 165 or HB 50) — AGS model numbers are standard, so replacing like-for-like is safe.

2. Pick the right capacity (Ah)

Capacity, measured in ampere-hours (Ah), is how much energy the battery stores. Bigger cars with more electronics need more Ah. As a rough guide:

• Small cars (800cc–1300cc): ~40–50 Ah
• Mid-size sedans (1300cc–1800cc): ~50–70 Ah
• SUVs and large cars: ~70 Ah and above

Going slightly higher on Ah is fine and often improves lifespan. Going too low means the battery struggles, especially in winter or with heavy electrical loads.

3. Don't ignore cold-cranking amps (CCA)

CCA measures starting power in cold conditions. Pakistan's climate is warm, so CCA is less critical than in Europe, but a battery with healthy CCA still starts your engine effortlessly after sitting overnight.

4. Choose the right type

• Conventional (flooded) — the classic maintenance battery; reliable and affordable. Needs occasional distilled-water top-up.
• Maintenance-Free (MF) — sealed, no top-up, cleaner to handle. Ideal if you want zero hassle.

5. Check the manufacturing date

A battery that sat on a shelf for a year is already partly aged. Fresh stock matters — it directly affects how long the battery will serve you. This is exactly why we supply recently manufactured AGS batteries.

6. Buy from an authorized distributor

Genuine AGS batteries come with a real warranty and consistent quality. Counterfeit or grey-market batteries may look identical but fail early and have no warranty support.
