• Require topping up — you must add distilled water periodically.
• Emit some gases — best installed in a ventilated area.

Best for: homes and shops with frequent, long power cuts where the battery cycles deeply every day.

Maintenance-Free (MF) batteries

MF batteries are sealed and use advanced chemistry.

• Zero maintenance — no water top-up ever.
• Clean and spill-proof — safe for indoor or office use.
• Faster charging and lower self-discharge.
• Higher upfront cost and slightly shorter cycle life than tubular for heavy deep-cycling.

Best for: offices, homes with short/infrequent outages, or anyone who wants a clean, fit-and-forget battery.

How to choose

Ask two questions:

1. How long and how often does the power go out? Long, daily cuts → tubular. Short or occasional cuts → MF.

2. Can you top up water every couple of months? If not, choose MF.
